Tried pizza here for the first time. The cheese was weird and half melted; felt like I was eating crust and cheese - sauce was scarce. Not really interested in trying it again.

Went here because i hear so much about the east side Zaffiro's pizza being wonderful. It was okay. I thought a little expensive. Crust was pre made type but it was thin and crispy. Lots of good cheese, not so many mushrooms. Service was excellent and they offer iPad to use while there. Just show driver's license to bartender. I would go there again to try their lunch special. Server said you get beverage, 1/2 pasta and 1/2 salad for a low price. I'll be there!

Stopped in on a Friday night with an hour to kill before seeing a movie. It is absolutely a nice place! Atmosphere is pleasant and inviting. Not crowded or noisy at all which was a bit surprising to me considering it was a Friday night. Plenty of food and drink options and a large bar area with multiple t.v.s. I only give Zaffiro's a 3 star rating because I can not attest to how the food is. Having just ate dinner before heading to Zaffiro's I was not exactly hungry. I did order 1 drink, though, which was quite tasty-spiked strawberry lemonade. Overall- the atmosphere would get 4 or 5 stars but my overall opinion is still a bit neutral as I feel I have not had much experience at this restaurant. I would like to go back at some point and try a pizza or one of their several dessert options. Tip: Our bartender informed us that after 9, appetizers are less expensive...$5 I believe, if I remember correctly. Not sure if this is only on certain nights or is part of a promotion, but considering apps ranged from $7-13 there, I felt it was a good deal!

Nice location. Stop and eat some pizza and then see a movie. They had a lunch special for $7 when I stopped in. There were several choices. I picked the personal margherita pizza with Caesar salad. The server brought us some homemade chips to eat before our lunch. I had them on my previous visit and really liked them. This time though I thought they tasted like they were fried in old oil. My lunch wasn't a personal pizza it was just two small slices. They were fantastic but it was a very small serving. The Caesar salad was absolutely drenched in dressing to the point that it was unpalatable. I really loved the pizza even though I don't think the lunch deal was such a deal. Service was super attentive and maybe that was because we were the only people there.

Bartender was very congenial! Frankie's cheese bread was good, sauce very yummy!!!! Pizza truly a disappointment! If you like eating a dry cracker with no sauce, this is this is your pizza. Service was terribly for a slow Wednesday nite. I will try again, but prefer the east side restaurant. The manager said it is the same recipe.... Hmmmm.... I didn't like it. Nice atmosphere and parking was easy. They have lots of daily specials. Far from the best pizza in this area.

Overpriced hype. Went for lunch special Mediocre salad and overdone pizza. Potato chips are great! My friend got a chopped salad, I had lunch special, 2 cokes... Tab was 36 bucks?!?! Before tip! Not going back.

My hubby and I were on a date night to see a movie so we opted to get carry in, the restaurant was packed. We ordered a pizza for him and the kitchen sink salad for me. The food was delicious and fast. Went to the bar for a drink while we waited and ordered their Halloween martini special which was only 4 dollars since it was still happy hour! It was delicious and a steal! The food was a little pricy, but we received a coupon with our movie tickets which helped.

What a bummer is all I can say. My husband put this very succinctly I think, "this is great food for being served at a movie theater". As in, compared to hot dogs, popcorn and nachos, this is ok. So, here is the sad/bad. I am going to preface this with, I have been to the original location often. Is awesome. I like the old-school look of the original and the people that work there actually look like they have been around and like the cook/chef actually cook, the bartender is old enough to drink etc . The decor is nice. The staff was pleasant enough. I did feel like I was in an upscale pizza hut, though. Staff was all high school kids. I would have liked to have seen one person around that looked like they had something to do with being Italian or the original location or something. Maybe that is just being silly. Pizza crust was definitely not made there (I agree with Barbara D's review). Maybe they have someone mass producing the crust somewhere and then said high school student topping the pizzas and throwing them in an oven. The crust is what it is all about for Zaffiros and this is not the same as the original. Now, in my opinion, the worst. They have one bathroom stall for each sex. And the place is huge. This might work ok on the east side location where they can fit 30 people but here I don't even know how many fit in, like 200 capacity? I could understand if you could only go here by going to a movie so you could use the theater bathroom but we did not go to a movie and it appeared many people around us were not either. You can enter a separate entrance so obviously they cater to and probably encourage non-movie go-ers to use their restaurant. There was several families with several small children and little babies who it appeared were just coming in to eat. And what if those children really had to go? I mentioned to my husband how cheap that design process felt. Like the plan is laid out and the owners said, "let's just nix the extra bathrooms and we can squeeze two more booths in! Who cares if they have to go, they can use the movie theaters bathrooms." My husband laughed at me and gave me a "oh big deal" until he had to go and waited, I am not kidding, at least 5 minutes! Pizza was very average. What a bummer. I have gone to the Zaffiros at another movie theater and had a similar pizza experience. I gave it a pass when I went thinking it was such a new concept (I think this was the first one that they opened off their original location), and it was pretty newly opened and that they had not reached maximum ability but now I know the sad, sad truth :(

I ate here in late August, shortly after their opening, but just getting around to writing a review. I was waiting with my younger daughter since our movie ended before her siblings' film did and thought we'd have a snack. I'm glad I tried it with 1 kid so I didn't money on 2 more. She got the kids meal pizza but when I asked if she could have juice or milk instead of soda I was told it would be $2 extra! Really! More money for a healthier option!? Little things that added up, asked for lime in seltzer & got lemon. My meal came with a soup so I got the Italian Wedding soup or their "interpretation" so instead of little meatballs there were a couple pieces of mystery meat. We were given complimentary potato chips but chips are not something I think of going with pizza. The crust on her pizza tasted a lot like frozen. All in all, not a great experience and won't return.

I don't think that the food here is bad. In fact I find it to be pretty good. But the proportions have gotten smaller since they first opened. I recently went with 3 others, and the portions we received were very small. I ordered their ravioli dish and received 6 very small raviolis. I love the homemade chips they bring to each table to start, they are great. I've never had anything there I didn't like, however the price is an issue for me. The prices are pretty steep for what you get. If I didn't have a gift card or coupon for the restaurant I don't know that I would actually eat there. Although I like it, I don't feel it's worth the money you spend, especially since the portions have gotten smaller. The atmosphere is great and I've always had great service. I just don't think it's worth the cost associated with it.

this place is cool. They have home made chips and these things called torpedos which is hollowed out french bread stuffed with some sort of gooey meat.. great form factor. I'm not sure of the movie or the dinner factor but service was pretty fast and the food was cheap

Stopped in Zaffiro's after a movie to grab a bite to eat. The restaurant was pretty empty which was nice but in the back of my head I always have that thought if it's not crowded, must not be that good. Service was fine, nothing outstanding and the menu has a good selection. I felt the prices were a big ridiculous though. I had the sliders appetizer and it was a pricey $13 for three sliders. A little too much in my opinion. They were pretty good but nothing to run back for. My friend had a wedge salad and that was a bit high too. They boys all had pizza and they said it was really good. Restaurant was clean and quiet. Glad I finally tried it but really don't need to rush back.

I fell in love with Zaffiro's pizza at their Farwell Avenue location. I've been a big fan of Zaffiro's for years. We went last night to the Moreland Avenue location. The pizza is just not the same as the East Side. The building is great...big, clean, etc. I get that part and I like it. But they can't make the pizza like they do on Farwell Ave! I hope I'm wrong or if I'm right then I hope they fix the problem and the pizza is better next time.

If you're going to the movies, have some extra time and are hungry, there's Zaffiros. We were headed to see the Wolf of Wall Street under those exact circumstances so we stopped. First, the inside is really, really nice - much nicer than the grubby dive that is Zaffiros on the East Side. They tout this as a full service restaurant and encourage people to eat here even if they aren't coming to see a movie. Does anyone actually make a trip here? Well, it is New Berlin and the options are limited, so maybe? Anyway - we were pretty much the only table so our food arrived quickly. For me, Zaffiro's pizza is "ok" - I like the crunchy crust but the sauce is way too sweet and it's greasy. Balestreri's is better IMO. Service was good too but again, they really weren't busy. Overall, I think Zaffiro's works best as a convenience option - if you're having "date night" and don't really feel like moving the car 0.2 miles to the Texas Roadhouse or Chili's, they've got you covered. Also - there is a full service bar here and drinks CAN be taken into the theaters. I wish I would have known that when we went to see the Hobbit, it would have helped.

Very slow service. ..There seemed to be a ton of staff and no one was doing anything. Manager looked sweaty and hung over. We ordered a pizza 45 minutes before our movie and didn't have time to eat it...had to box it up. The place wasn't even that busy...good pizza though

Second time we are here. My wife loves their veggie pizza. I'm enjoying the BBQ pizza. Chips are good too. Nice decor and good service. We will probably back again

I tried this restaurant three times before writing this review. My experience has been with ordering pizza to take into the movie theater there. In general, I notice management and communication issues. When ordering from the movie concessions area, I am told a time in general the pizza should be ready. I don't mind waiting at all, but their projected time frames are very far off from what actually happens and I wonder if there is ANY communication between the concession clerk and the restaurant? I feel as though "it should be ready in about 10 minutes" is their standard statement to customers. For my recent experience, I was given a time frame of 10 minutes. I waited 20 minutes and my buzzer didn't go off so I walked over to the restaurant. There was a queue of 2 people ahead of me at the counter. After 5 minutes of seeing some staff bring food out to various dine-in tables, I asked the girl first in line if she had been greeted by anyone. She said she had been waiting 15 minutes, but no one had acknowledged her as of yet. A few minutes later someone came over to assist her. I was able to capture the staff member's attention and asked if my pizza was ready. She brought me my pizza as it was ready, even though I was not buzzed and unfortunately the box had no warmth to it and I immediately knew it had probably been sitting there a while. Yep, It was room temperature--clearly had been out the oven and I was just not notified in a timely manner. This is my 3rd lukewarm to room temp pizza. IMO, all of this points to an overall management / process issue. I enjoyed how my pizza tasted for the most part, but the temperature is always sub-standard and the wait is frustrating because they do not seem to have efficient procedures in place. Take a chance if you want, but I have not had good luck here and I hope they read these reviews to improve their product, communication, and overall customer experience.

Not good. Pizza may have been okay had it not been burned any dripping in grease. I decided to give it one more try with my husband. We each got a burger, medium. My husband got it plain and specifically asked for nothing but the meat and bread. I got my burger and it was totally charred. My husband got his with a ton of fixings on it. They replaced our order which was nice but we had to miss part of the movie to go get it :(

I love The original Zaffiro's on Brady. One of the best pizzas in the city. Unfortunately this is no where near being the same. Reminds me of the old Jeno's frozen pizzas we had growing up. And the staff......well lets just say when I went to pick up my order the pizza wasn't in a warming oven...it was sitting on marble. Yup cold marble. So the pizza was cold. Just stay away from here, never eat here, and hope it slowly closes up and we can forget this mistake ever happened.

My family and I went to Zaffiro's at the Ridge on Sunday afternoon (2 days ago) with my family (6 adults/2 children). We were greeted and seated by the waitress immediately. We ordered our drinks and food right away and the waitress was friendly and helpful while taking our order. That was the last good thing that happened while there. The waitress left with our order and disappeared. There was only one other table occupied in the place, and they were seated in a different portion of the divided dining room. There was an NFL game being shown on all (10?) of the TVs, but it seemed that the sound was only coming from the one TV right next to us, and it was blaring loud. We all agreed that we need to ask the waitress to turn down the volume on that TV when she comes back. After about 15 minutes, she still hadn't returned with our drinks or salad, so my Sister-in-Law went to the bartender to ask if he could lower the volume on that one TV. The bartender wasn't busy, actually seemed more interested in watching the game, said that he would lower the volume in a minute. At this point, 2 customers came in, sat at the bar, ordered drinks and the bartender served them. We were watching him intently wondering when he might get around to fulfilling our request with the volume. When he went back to watching the game, I went up to remind him that the TV was "really too loud and was distracting from our conversation and could he just turn it down a bit?" He said he would as soon as he got a chance. I was detecting a big-time attitude the whole time. Meanwhile, the waitress still hadn't returned (maybe 25 minutes). The waitress finally showed up with the pizzas, salad, waters, and beers all at once. At that point the bartender lifted his remote and lowered the volume to an acceptable level. Everyone started to dig into the food. The waitress was still ferrying the drinks to the table when we realized that one of the pizzas was ice cold. My father told the waitress, who fetched the manager who quickly apologized and said they would bring out a fresh one. About 10 minutes later we had 2 fresh, hot pizzas, which were okay, but not worth the hassle thus far. While we were waiting for them however, my father used the restroom, came out and told the bartender that they were out of hand towels in the men's room. Bartender said he would get right on that. When we left a half hour later, there still weren't hand towels in the men's room.

Visited recently to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We had high hopes, but sadly Zaffiro's fell short of our expectations. First, the things I did like. The pizza was good and iPads for the kids to play with is cool. They have some great happy hour specials too. Now on to what I didn't like. The service was poor, and management and the rest of the staff didn't seem to be focused on the customers. There was a lot of milling around by managers and servers in the bar area, but when we needed help, our server was nowhere to be found. The pizza was quite good, but very over-priced. $20 for a "large" pizza that wasn't really that big. My wife ordered a pasta dish that cost $14. It had lots of interesting looking ingredients, but was very bland tasting. There was no salt on our table, and our waitress never came back until she brought the bill. As another reviewer mentioned, there is a $2 upcharge for milk with a kids meal. Seriously? Sure, milk probably costs a little more than soda, but I have never seen that in any other restaurant. The waitress was clueless about their specials. I visited on a Wednesday and one of the specials on Wednesday nights is $2 craft beers - great deal! I tried to order a second one, but she told me that the special ended at 6 p.m. I told her that happy hour ended at 6, but the specials should go all night. Nope, she said...the daily specials end at 6 too. What??? Other things I didn't like - the bill was wrong, the waitress handed us an empty pizza box for US to put our leftovers in (she wouldn't do it), no one ever stopped at the table to check on our meals...I could go on and on. The biggest disappointment of the night was despite us telling them, they never did anything special for my daughter's birthday. For $60, we should have just gone next door to StoneFire Pizza. The kids would have had a lot more fun.
